Product description

Review

a book to be dipped into or to be used as a quick reference, this would be a useful addition to any Irish person’s library

(Irish Echo)

it’s worth it for the profile of Pearse alone

(Irish Independent)

Tis that time of year when people start making lists of potential gifts for their friends and/or family and publishers launch new books to appeal to every personality type and disposition. One of these gift books is Who’s Feckin’ Who in Irish History … hilarious … if you’ve ever vaguely wondered who Niall of the Nice Hostages was, or feel like you should know something about Robert Emmett or Wolfe Tone since they keep getting name checked in the sad songs your Da sings when he’s knocked back a few, but can’t face reading a serious history book about Irish history, Who’s Feckin’ Who in Irish History is the perfect choice … a perfect gift … or a sly one for that Gaelic-spouting uncle who’s always complaining the younger generation don’t know about their heritage. Or, you could just treat yourself. Everyone needs a good laugh now and then

(A Trip to Ireland)

About the Author

Colin Murphy is the author of The Most Famous Irish People You’ve Never Heard Of and co-author of the bestselling ‘Feckin’ collection (The O’Brien Press). His début historical novel Boycott (Brandon) was published in 2012 to great acclaim.

Brendan O’Reilly is an illustrator and senior art director in the world of advertising. He is also the first person to climb every mountain in Ireland over 500 metres, despite being as old as the hills himself. He is married to Bernie, and they have two children, Vincent and Isobel.

The best history book ever !!!!!!! - if you strugle with boring, yawning, blah blah blah history reports - this book is your man - its like listening to a drunk gang in a pub - one fact and story just bumps off the other - your checks will be sore laughing and you will learn a bit about the interesting period in irish history (not the fecking 1916 stuff - the stuff that involves sex, murdering, loosing the head, kings and princesses) - i love it and i be giving them as gifts - would love if they would do a toned down version for my kids and defo another version in more detail on the Brian Boro - Strongbow - Edward the Bruce periods
