Review

Praise for Wall Games 'Merits a medal' Independent 'The account of vacillation and in-fighting at the top levels of politics is vivid, and credible enough to be disturbing' Evening Standard 'An expert on erring political shapers of public destiny. He undoubtedly knows where all the bodies are buried. Dobbs is the sort of operator who seems to be precisely where the action is at various moments in history' Australian --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

This was a well written, carefully constructed book. The main character was believable and very likeable and there was enough action and political intrigue to spice up the love story underlying the plot. The villian of the book was very human, believable and entirley 3 dimensional. The premise was original and quite different to other books of the same ilk. Recommended reading, it has inspired me to move beyond reading not just the House of Card trilogy but all the other Michael Dobbs books as well.

As a fan of Michael Dobbs' 'later' work I was interested to read a book written in and about the time of the destruction Berlin Wall. I found that the characters were much less interesting and the plot less intriguing than his later 'political' novels.

I am a big fan of Michael Dobbs and this was one of his books that i hadn't read and was not obtainable through my local library. Although i would rather not pay for books i wanted to read this one and was prepared to pay the cost and postage to obtain it. Although i enjoyed the read, i would not normally purchase books if they were available through my local library.
