Format: Kindle Edition
If you're looking for short stories that will not only challenge your mind whilst you read them, but also inspire you to pick up a pen and start writing your own, then this book is definitely for you.
Perhaps best described as a cross between the science fiction of The Twilight Zone, mixed with the delightfully odd Britishness of Tales of the Unexpected, there should be something for everyone in this collection. Whether it's the lonely tale of a lighthouse in deep space, the disturbing case of an artificial intelligence in the frame for murder, or what really caused the Sumatran empire to crumble, each story leaves you thinking in a way that all good fiction should.
At this price, for storytelling with such imagination, you really can't afford not to pick up this book.

I found a copy of this in the bookshelves of a library. This is really pleasant science fiction, low on nasty, pointless violence and gore, with carefully thought out and intriguing stories - it's certainly suitable for young adult readers. This is a book you can dip in and out of and it becomes obvious, the more stories you read, that the author genuinely is a scientist himself. A really good humored (in every sense of the word) and intelligent read.

From the first story I was delighted with the clever twists and turns that took something that sounded recognisable and suddenly it was not what it seemed to be. It's a great book to read when you have a few spare moments and want to stretch your mind until it escapes from the 'box'. Ayd Instone's passion for imagination and taking the ordinary into the extraordinary is in every story.
