Brilliant! No-nonsense, helpful recipes and kind advice. I haven't had the book for very long, but the 3 recipes I've tried so far have been really tasty. There is no pressure or hard sell in the way the book is written, just good recipes for those who wish to tread a little lighter on the earth, either sometimes or always. In all the ingredients lists there is a helpful 'check' symbol, which I find really useful in drawing my attention to ingredients which I would have to double check for animal products. The tone of the book is like having a very knowledgable and down to earth friend helping me in the kitchen. Best vegan cook book I've used.

I've made quite a few recipes from this cookbook already and they have been delicious. They really can be made in just 15 minutes! Particular highlights for my family have been the Portobello Mushroom Stroganoff and Easy Bean Burgers. Although my family eat meat (I don't) they have loved these recipes. They're accessible, well-written and flavourful vegan dishes without any crazy ingredients or trips to specialty shops. I have a LOT of cookbooks, and if I'm honest, I mostly look at the pretty pictures and sort of forget about them. Although this one doesn't have many pictures, it is one of the cookbooks that I've cooked from the most. The recipes work, taste great, and are ready in no time. Although the recipes range from breakfast to dessert, it's now our go-to quick midweek dinner cookbook.
Although great for family meals, I'd definitely give this book as a gift to students off to Uni or anyone who is thinking about going vegan. It shows how easy and tasty vegan cooking is.

As many of the previous reviewers have commented, this book is small in size when compared to most other cookery books. It is regular paperback novel size and has a section of colour photographs of some of the dishes in the centre. However, I didn't buy this book as a 'coffee table' book. It was bought as a recipe book to give inspiration while trying to eat more vegan meals and I have to say that it absolutely delivers on this. All the recipes I have tried so far have worked and have been delicious. Whilst you can make dinner in 15 minutes, with the help of ready prepared ingredients, you can just as easily prepare the dishes 'slow time' (not that much slower) if you're prepared to do a bit of chopping etc yourself. I've so far tried the Thai Sweet Potato and Coconut Soup, Smoky Cowboy Beans, Quick Ratatouille with Lemony Chickpea Mash and Creamy Fusilli with Mushrooms and White Wine. This little volume is a good example of the saying, 'You shouldn't judge a book by its cover.' It may be small and lacking lots of photographs, but it is packed full of great recipes to try. I've found that the ingredients listed are readily available, the recipes are, indeed, quick to make and it doesn't cost very much. What's not to like?

Interestingly, I tried one of the recipes after seeing it in a magazine which had a clear really appealing picture of the finished dish. Think that the recipes are good but that the book is let down by the lack of pictures that are often the motivation to try something out.

I've made my first meal from this book tonight and it was delicious. I've paid for a lot of cookbooks in my time, full of professional pictures but this one doesn't need all that fuss. This is for people who want to go vegan or are already and don't want to faff. It shows you how much you can do with a few simple natural ingredients to turn them into tasty complex dishes. It's a small little book but packed to the brim with recipes and I love it! I'm not a 'proper' vegan yet and I'm sort of leaning that way in the future but always find it hard to know what to cook and get stuck in a rut. This books given me loads of inspiration and I think I'll transition easier knowing I have lots of ideas to choose from. Thinking of going vegan? Buy this book.
