Product Description

About the Author

Swiss-born Oliver Frey began a career in comics with the Fleetway War Picture Library and went on to work on the massive boys' papers Look & Learn and Speed & Power, for which he produced numerous comic-strips. He worked on such cults as The Trigan Empire and Dan Dare before co-founding a publisher of magazines devoted to computer gaming. For CRASH (ZX Spectrum games) Frey created The Terminal Man, which was published monthly in four-page strips. It also appeared in ZZAP!64 (Commodore 64 games). Both titles went on to be the biggest selling computer games magazines of the time. Oliver Frey continues working as a commercial illustrator. http://oliverfreyart.com

The talent of Oliver Frey never ceases to amaze me. I first read this story nearly 25 years ago and at the time its` scope of vision in the narrative and the art work itself left an indelible mark upon me then. Rereading it now I understand how far ahead and before his time Oliver Frey was in creating this story - Dyson Spheres, biological sustaining nano virus`s, artificial intelligence enhanced human intelligence. All these are common place now in popular SciFi but then the concepts were original and unusual. The World has had to grow up, as I have, to fully appreciate the brilliance of this wonderful piece of visual story telling.

Wonderful 50 page sci-fi adventure comic from an amazing illustrator. Oliver frey is a master of layout and facial expression. The variety of lighting and tone is a tribute to his mastery of the airbrush. This package is only let down by dated graphic design on the front cover. Snap this up if you loved CRASH magazine back in the day.

Really like the story and artwork. I used to follow this when it was featured in Zzap 64 magazine back in the day.
It's nice to get the complete story in one volume.
