About the Author

Paul Belasik is a graduate of Cornell University and has written many articles on horses and horsemanship. He gives clinics, lectures and demonstrations internationally, and trains a large cross-section of clients at his Pennsylvania Riding Academy where, in particular, his celebrated short courses concentrating on the rider's seat and position have brought him both acclaim and students from all over the world.

This book is a magical journey into the very depths of horsemanship at it's most enlightened. It would make a best selling drama. For me this book gave a very rare, honest and intimate incite into the life of the very great man who wrote it. Buy it, cherish it, share it with your friends, it will open their hearts and minds to the true songs of horses.

a powerful collection of stories written in such a way that enchants the reader.
this is not a 'how to ride' book, it's a powerful, thought provoking and truly inspiring helping hand on the road to enlightenment

I return to this book over and over again. The images Mr Belasik creates through his stories are spell-binding. The idea of one's own personal journey is fundamental here; its a book about 'feel' and all senses are involved. Different characters are introduced along the way - all masters to learn from - if you are prepared to listen. Really listen. This book does not provide a series of instructions of how to be a good rider or riding teacher. Instead it tells stories that will speak volumes to reflective riders - they will rejoice in its magic. Beware: it may make you feel rather emotional.

What a strange, magical, peculiar, wonderful book. Very very rarely do I read a book twice -- this one will be read again and again. Insightful -- and a wonderful gift as well.
