The Real Meal Revolution offers a return to the way human beings are supposed to eat: a low-carbohydrate, high-fat and no-sugar diet. The work of a scientist, a nutritionist and a phenomenal chef, it turns their extensive research and experience into a definitive eating guide and cookbook, packed with simple, delicious and beautifully photographed recipes, that will radically transform your health.
From the Back Cover
'Scientists labelled fat the enemy. Why they were wrong.' Time magazine
We've been told for years that eating fat is bad for us, that it is a primary cause of high blood pressure, heart disease and obesity. The Real Meal Revolution debunks this lie and shows us the way back to restored health through eating what human beings are meant to eat.
This book will radically transform your life by showing you clearly, and easily, how to take control of not just your weight, but your overall health, too - through what you eat. And you can eat meat, seafood, eggs, cheese, butter, nuts . . . often the first things to be prohibited or severely restricted on most diets. This is Banting, or Low-Carb, High-Fat (LCHF) eating, for a new generation, solidly underpinned by years of scientific research and by now incontrovertible evidence.
This extraordinary book, already a phenomenal bestseller, overturns the conventional dietary wisdom of recent decades that placed carbohydrates at the base of the supposedly healthy-eating pyramid and that has led directly to a worldwide epidemic of obesity and diabetes. Both a startling revelation, and as old as humanity itself, it offers a truly revolutionary approach to healthy eating that explodes the myth, among others, that cholesterol is bad for us. This is emphatically not just another unsustainable, quick-fix diet or a fad waiting to be forgotten, but a long-delayed return to the way human beings are supposed to eat.See all Product description

I first read this book as a purchased download from Kalahari.net in South Africa as it had been recommended to me by people there. I received a hard copy when it was released here recently as the UK edition sent to me by my daughter through Amazon. I am now a retired doctor and fully agree with what Prof Tim Noakes and his team are promoting. Prof Noakes is a top rated world class scientist who has not been scared to challenge entrenched poor practices. He ran for many years the world renowned Sports Science Institute in Cape Town attached to the University their. He has authored numerous scientific studies and been at the head of his field and more recently with nutrition.
We have sadly been deceived by big-pharma and the major food industries to use refined food that has "added value" to their bottom line, but not "added value" to our health. They have funded research and have a vested interest in selling their products and medical researchers have generally been reliant on them for funding their research. This has resulted in a massive bias. During the last 30-40 years there has been a huge epidemic of diseases in western society these include: cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, secondary diabetes, obesity etc.. I believe all of us know this.
The wind is changing and Prof Noakes and others like him are breaking down the barriers and using correct science to prove what has gone very wrong with our diets.Read more ›

I am trying to do a low carb diet and was recommended this book. It was a bit disappointing as some of the recipes are not quick and easy. Some of the science lost me as well.Published 27 days ago by Mrs.J.Benson
