This is a must read book! If you are overweight, diabetic or even normal. It will literally change your life for the good! You will lose weight effortlessly, not feel hungry and have a better healthier life as a result. Well researched, well written and well illustrated in full colour. Written by a medical scientist, a nutritionist and a chef!
I first read this book as a purchased download from Kalahari.net in South Africa as it had been recommended to me by people there. I received a hard copy when it was released here recently as the UK edition sent to me by my daughter through Amazon. I am now a retired doctor and fully agree with what Prof Tim Noakes and his team are promoting. Prof Noakes is a top rated world class scientist who has not been scared to challenge entrenched poor practices. He ran for many years the world renowned Sports Science Institute in Cape Town attached to the University their. He has authored numerous scientific studies and been at the head of his field and more recently with nutrition.
We have sadly been deceived by big-pharma and the major food industries to use refined food that has "added value" to their bottom line, but not "added value" to our health. They have funded research and have a vested interest in selling their products and medical researchers have generally been reliant on them for funding their research. This has resulted in a massive bias. During the last 30-40 years there has been a huge epidemic of diseases in western society these include: cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, secondary diabetes, obesity etc.. I believe all of us know this.
The wind is changing and Prof Noakes and others like him are breaking down the barriers and using correct science to prove what has gone very wrong with our diets.

For the first time in my life I am never hungry. I have lost weight, feel fitter than ever before and all of this by eating the foods I have excluded for decades. I have started recommending this style of eating to friends and now patients. They have all lost a significant amount of weight and feel good.

This book is great. It gives the history of how carbs became king and low-fat became all the rage. It explains why a low carb, high fat diet is better for most people. Oh, and the recipes are amazing. I've made quite a few already and they've come out really well. Not butter chicken is now a family favourite.

I wonder if this is going to be a as popular here in the UK as it is in South Africa. There people swear by it. Restaurants cater for people on this diet. That just tells you how many people are doing this diet. I have tried it and I have lost 28 pounds, so it really, really works!

Really informative book with great recipes and photographs. Have recently started following the eating plan as I need to lose a lot of weight and would like more energy. Not too difficult as there are lots of delicious foods that you CAN eat. Will update post with my weight loss results.

Yet another cracking book book from Prof Noakes, yet again debunking some of the best held theories on healthy eating. Well worth reading and understanding why this diet works. Lots of great recipes and interesting history of why we eat how we eat! I would highly recommend reading this book.
