Oh dear. Well let's start with the objective bit. This clearly demonstrates all the problems of the self-publisher. Page 1 is just inside the front cover, a biographical foreword; the story itself doesn't start until page 7 - but the page numbering disappears for a while about then. All the goodies a publisher would have put on the unnumbered or small-Roman-numeral pages at the front are missing. So we don't know when it was written or published (well, OK, Amazon does). The author has not even asserted his moral right or copyrighted the work. If he is a computer geek, as the bio asserts, then he should have been able to put his word processor into "both sides justified" mode; every word-processor I've used, including WordStar, has been able to do that. The ragged right-hand edge gets a bit wearing.
Then I started reading it. My immediate reaction was "Oh no, another Paolozzi: Look I can put a six-page chapter down every night!" The chapters do get longer after a bit - but then get broken up into sections. Style is a pastiche of OTT jokes; subject matter, ditto. I mean: Gods, Superheroes, bionic man, zombies and an intelligent coffee machine all at once? but only one cat?
I did read it all the way through in one sitting - I like to do that if I can - but it was getting to be a struggle towards the end; the constantly-changing style is a killer, as is the superfluity of characters. I leave you with two thoughts: first, the author has simply got to get better - can't get any worse - but since he hasn't put the date on this we won't know whether the next book was written earlier or later; second, he has done something that I have never achieved in my own literary efforts - he's FINISHED it - the quantity has a quality of its own.

1.0 out of 5 stars too absurd! 13 July 2013
By Albane - Published on
Format: Paperback
I started reading this book, but I didn't go far. The mix of several genres, the absurdity of it gave me the impression to lose my time.
