Really nice sized map, 53Cm in height or so & 80-90 Cm in width.
It comes with a nice description and comparison to traditional maps at the bottom and points out the colonial privileged perspective.
This map should be widely known and used compared to the Mercator map, People say this is the "21st century!" but we can't even get the dimensions right haha..
If you're looking for a world map, buy this one!
i didn't like how Palestine was not shown on the map, just bold writing of "Israel"

If you are reading this review, you probably are already aware of the Peters Projection Map. If not you can check out the official website, though you'll want to buy from Amazon as it is way cheaper here.

The map itself is quite big, which I liked, but beware if your wall space is limited. It is printed on fairly heavy card stock, with very good quality lamentation.

A must for every classroom, bedroom, study or home school environment.

The map is great. The packaging is terrible and the map was creased. Not good for laminate. Hoping that it will flatten out. Packaging needs to be much more solid.

So, I ordered this map - as i'm home educating my children and although there is a vast improvement, by all accounts, England seems to be able to fit both Portugal and Spain - give or take a few millimetres here or there. However, as I'm teaching my daughter, there is current unspoken census regarding imperialism and all things relating to empire, taking the names of 'political....' fill in the blanks! I did however explain that the majority of the countries 'dwarfed' via this map, do not have the means and global connections of the printing press and publicise a world map as an academic resource.... It's the same with Google Earth, countries (Western) apparently expanding, even from Nasa's point of view! So then I guess, old habits die hard.. in any event, the item arrived in excellent packaging. The paper of the map itself is quite thick, countries are clearly labeled and very good value for money.

If you are looking for a map of the world with a true representation of land mass and location then the Peters Projection Map is the place to go. It shows countries to scale and without the western bias so evident in maps of the past where wealth is equated to size and made Europe as big as South America. This is invaluable when teaching geography as you can see more clearly how the various continents and islands fitted together and how they have shifted apart. It also gives a fair representation of land size and location and makes you appreciate just how vast, and overlooked, places like Africa are. It may seem like a small deal to use a new type of map, but in a world looking to resolves many issues and find a certain peace it always helps to have as a starting place a fair, accurate and equal representation of your place in it.

Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page.

It is about time everyone should be using the Peters Projection as it shows the size of land so much more accurately than the useless Mercator Map.

Almost everyone uses the Mercator including schools, so children think Greenland is bigger than China, and that the USA and Canada are bigger than Africa.

Well done to use the Peters Projection Map even showing the incorrect sizes of the Mercator.
