Million Dollar Question by Ellie Campbell

New Yorker Olivia Wheeler, goes from wealth and success to bankruptcy and shame. Struggling single-mother Rosie Dixon, wins an unexpected million pounds. While Olivia struggles to survive, she flees to London. Rosie discovers sudden wealth comes with a ton of problems. Two strangers who have never met, have no clue that each is affecting the other’s destiny.

A well written story of, love, loss, redemption, life altering decisions and secrets revealed. I liked Olivia, seeing a wealthy woman lose it all was devastating. Rosie, struggling to have a nice life for her children is a very likable woman. Watching her win a large sum of money and how her life suddenly changed was intense.

Also the twists, turns, drama and ultimately secrets made this a true five star read. Both women had self discoveries, and life changing situations. Each had to make tough choices and learn to live with their new lives. The plot is original, Olivia and Rosie are likable. I strongly recommend Million Dollar Question to all.

Whether you win or lose a lot of money your fate could be the same--people will either try to use you or lose you. No matter what you do--you never seem to get it right. Add to that no self confidence and you have our newest millionaire-recently divorced Rosie Dixon. Olivia Wheeler, our other side of the coin, lost all her money (a considerable amount) due to an unscrupulous employer. She was an up and coming Hedge Fund Manager until her boss caused umpteen people-including herself to literally lose a lot of money--in her case--all of it.

Will these two totally separate people be able to reconcile their new lives? This book will take you through almost every scenario that could possibly happen. Their lives start to inter twine and then something wonderful happens--but you will have to read the book to find out what that is!! This is a definite feel good book with a couple of lessons we should all remember. Oh, you may need some tissues at parts but I also found myself cheering these two on with hope in my heart and a smile on my face!

This is a compelling tale of two very different women who face a number of life altering decisions. Rosie Dixon is in her early thirties, a single mum who is facing redundancy. Her life completely changes when she wins a million pounds. One minute financially strapped, and then a millionaire. She is shocked at the greed, ingratitude and viciousness of people and accidentally stumbles upon a secret that will change the course of her life permanently.

Olivia at the age of 33 takes the new financial world by storm. However when four billion dollars in missing funds is lost on the stock exchange and she becomes broke and flees to her friends in London. She hadn't realised when she was rich that she was cushioned against so many minor unpleasantries. In order to survive she sells her clothes and jewellery and rents a small shabby apartment and works as a waitress. She then meets a guy called Marcus, who wants to do a documentary on the rich and poor divide and gives her a place to stay as long as he can interview her.
How both women learn to cope with their new change in circumstances is remarkable and keeps the reader hooked through a number of dramatic twist and turns by these two very likable heroines that are about to discover a shocking revelation that will change their entire existence.

Ellie Campbell has created a good solid plot that's original with adorable characters' and I would definitely recommend this book to all readers of contemporary romance.

Meet Rosie and Olivia; two women who lead completely different lives but somehow end up in similar situations, having more in common than they ever expected. New Yorker Olivia Wheeler has given it her all, working all hours, to get to the top. She leads a comfortable life, making lots of money and being used to luxury surrounding her wherever she goes. But what happens when a big financial scandal takes all of this away from her? Rosie Dixon is a struggling single mother with two sons who works hard to make sure she can provide for her family. She knows what it is like to just have a few pounds left to finish the month with, so it comes as an absolute shock when she unexpectedly wins a million pound jackpot. Both Olivia's and Rosie's worlds are suddenly turned upside down as they are forced to face the importance of money, friendship and family.

Another enjoyable read from Ellie Campbell and probably my favourite from the ones I've read so far! 'Million Dollar Question' has two main storylines at its core; one with a focus on rich New Yorker Olivia and the other on single mum Rosie who completely unexpectedy wins a million pounds. I liked both Olivia and Rosie; they're completely different but just as fascinating, and I really loved reading their stories and discovering how everything worked out for them. I loved how the author managed to connect the two storylines to one another. It is quite an original read and I think most of us occasionally dream about winning a lot of money, or take the money we have for granted, without actually realising how it influences our lives and could change everything within a matter of days.

While there is a good and varied cast of characters, I did kind of miss being able to really connect with the characters, especially Olivia and Rosie.
