I went into this book with trepidation expecting lots of feuding couples and bitter fights over who should get what. However despite the fact that this book was about a divorce hotel, the book was a whole lot sweeter than I expected. And I was more than ok with that, it ended up being a hopeful read that made me smile.

First Line of Love Me or Leave Me:

“Shh, shh, shh,” I can hear my best friend Gemma saying, as she hands me a fistful of Kleenex and purposely avoids hugging me, so as not to crumple the wedding dress.

My Thoughts on Love Me or Leave Me:

I loved the way this book started! You saw the wedding invitations of different couples and just from those sneak peeks, you could see how very different all these couples are. Each couple is planning the day of their dreams and each invite tells it own story. And knowing that they will all end up at the inaugural weekend of the divorce hotel makes reading them bittersweet. And also intriguing, how did it all go so wrong?

This book kept up the suspense really well. The stories kept you guessing, with a few hints along the way as to why the marriages are in trouble. I’m not going to spoil you with any details but just be aware that all may not be as it seems and maybe some of those marriages are not quite doomed yet. The book is told from the different women’s point of view and I always know a book is working when I groan at a pov change but then immediately get engrossed in the new pov.

As I was reading this book, I was reminded I love books about hotels. It has been a long time since I read one but the inner workings and all the preparation and panicking that goes on as a new hotel opens just really entertains me.

When I read the synopsis for this book I was instantly intrigued as this sounded like a fresh original idea for a storyline and I assumed this book would be full of flawed characters, thunderous rows and heartache, I mean a divorce hotel that is just asking for trouble!

Chloe was jilted at the alter and in her bid to start a fresh she gets a job that couldn't suit her more, she will be running a new hotel but this isn't your standard hotel, this is a divorce hotel! As the hotel is about to open for its first weekend of guests Chloe hopes that she has got what it takes to pull this job off.

This was such a fantastic idea for a plot. There was total mayhem at this hotel that it actual felt comical as you keep thinking what drama is going to occur next.

Each of our main divorce couples have completely different characteristics as well as their reasons for wanting a divorce so I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters as well as their relationships.

Although the whole book was quite predictable it really didn't put a downer on this storyline as there was so much going on in this book so every chapter had me entertained. Although the characters were dealing with very emotional problems it didn't make the book fell deep it kept a lighthearted humorous feel to it.

Our main character Chloe was a little sweetie she was very sympathetic to the guests and was very loving, supportive and extrememly hard working you couldn't help but hope that she would get her happy ending.

Claudia Caroll is a fabulous author and she has won me over with this storyline, I loved this book and finished it in one sitting so I had a numb bum so I won't forget this book in a hurry!

Chloe has applied for her dream job. She has the chance to become the manager of a brand new boutique hotel. It isn't just a regular hotel, it's a special place where couples can check in to get a speedy divorce. Chloe has to get everything ready for their grand opening and she can't wait to meet her first guests for the second time. She's screened them all carefully. While she's doing her very best to make things go as smoothly as possible her very rich and well known boss is checking up on her regularly to see how things are going. The opening seems to be a big success, but there are three couples that have unforeseen problems. Lucy is a well known model who's married an older businessman. The children from his former marriage have made their life a living hell. Jo is a businesswoman who's working all over the world, she's at the hotel to divorce Dave, an actor who has been out of work for most of their marriage. He still loves her very much and isn't ready to let her go. Dawn is way too young to be a guest of the hotel, but Kirk has broken her heart and she is certain their marriage is over. Will she be able to get over their horrible breakup? Each guest has to fight a battle to be able to start over and fortunately there's Chloe who's offering understanding, advice and guidance every step of the way.
Love Me or Leave Me has an original concept. It's a book about love while the setting is a divorce hotel. That intrigued me straight away. Why are people getting divorced and what has happened to their love? Claudia Carroll managed to describe everyone's flaws and faults without ever making them lose their dignity or likability, which I think is very clever. I couldn't wait to find out what would happen to each of the couples.
