The author and publishers have taken the art of biographical books to a new dimension. Any true Elvis fan MUST have this book in his/her collection. Apart from tracing Elvis's history in words and pictures, the book contains on most pages pockets filled with facimiles of Elvis documents from his High School Report through personal letters in their envelopes, Christmas cards to condolence telegrams from Little Richard, Issac Hayes and Gov. Wallace. In the front, there's even a CD with Elvis speaking. A great book about the King that will take pride of place in your bookcase.
Out of all the Elvis books I own this is by far the best book, filled with Elvis' personal documents and letters, this makes this book one on it's own and a must for any Elvis fan. If you don't by any other book of Elvis' this is the one to have.
This is really just what it is - a collectors piece. Nicely packaged with audio CD and reproductions of programmes and tickets of early Elvis concerts. Nothing of any substance is said although the pictures and repros are quite nice. You get to see a picture of Elvis's front door key (how did I live without it!) and what he may have carried in his wallet (I thought rock and roll royalty didn't carry cash). If you want to know about Elvis in depth then this really isn't the book for you. A nice book to add to your collection but really that's all that can be said about it.
