Bought this for my 9 year old son - he loves making things so I knew this would go down well! Definitely a must have for bringing out the practical & creative sides of kids - I would say perfect for 7-10 year olds! Really colourful book - have a look at the "look inside" details.

Perfect purchase for those rainy days - instead of sitting in front of the telly!!! Would recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars unleash your family's creativity 12 Dec. 2007
By Alexis Rodrigo - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
i just love this book! i have tons of arts & crafts books because i like to engage my children's creativity. this book is one of the best! it's not only a compilation of creative activities that children and even grown-ups will enjoy doing. it's also a testament to the ingenuity of children as it showcases dozens (or is it hundreds?) of beautiful, quirky and interesting things made by children. the activities in the book will also spark your mind to think of other diy activities. most of the materials required in the book can be found in any home with kids. some require the use of a computer. you can always modify the activities to use whatever you have on hand.

the authors say that the book is for "families ... saying no to endless consumerism and yes to art, craft, and home-grown media." if that's you, then you must have this book! i'm buying the luptons' other books right now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Move over, Martha. Make room for the Luptons! 27 Oct. 2007
By weekly reader - Published on Amazon.com

Within minutes of opening this smartly designed treasure-trove of craft ideas, the DIY kids of all ages in our household were designing icons, party invitations, and clothes for a community of real and imaginary friends. Beautiful and practical, this easy-to-use guide also teaches that we can liberate ourselves from our roles as passive consumers to create personally expressive and useful works of art--for the ages or just for today. Of course, the concept of a graffiti couch has also sparked intelligent debate around the breakfast table. A family-bonding bible, with or without hot glue.
3.0 out of 5 stars OK 24 Jun. 2013

Not really what I was expecting. It is ok. I have to say though, I thought it was for younger children and it is not. Good for teenagers I would expect.

3.0 out of 5 stars nice but lots of this is on the net. 12 Jan. 2009

it may be a bit dated now; lots of this is on the net or practical sense...but if I did not already have hundreds of craft books, it might be good. I'd say 10-12 year old artsy/craftsy kids will appreciate it.
