This dictionary is very useful. As a "new" medical secretary, it was rarely out of my hands! It gives just a teeny bit of background to the words you're using and provided me with some insight into the conditions I was typing letters about.

I'd say it was a clear and practical guide. I'm sure there are probably more detailed and more "picturesque" medical dictionaries about, but for me it was excellent value and I wouldn't change jobs without it!

Format: Paperback
This dictionary provides an understandable and informative description of over eleven thousand entries. In contrast to other dictionaries the editor really managed to avoid the tendency to give too much or too detailed information. It offers interesting facts with just enough depth and, although concise, it only very rarely happened to me to not find the entry I was looking for. Really worth purchasing when starting medical studies although later on other resources will become necessary.
