Was looking forward to receiving this book, but at first glance am very disappointed. I was tempted to buy it due to its recipe for chocolate, pear and ginger crumble, which sounded delicious. However, having read the recipe, there is no mention of ginger either in the ingredients or the method. The preamble also talks about using chocolate-coated ginger biscuits and chocolate truffles, but there is no mention of these in the ingredients or method, either. All very confusing! I'm assuming there's an error here and the book wasn't properly proof read, but who knows? I don't know if any of the other recipes suffer similarly as I haven't had time to read them yet, but it's not a good start.

There are some lovely photos of chocolate creations, but that's not much good if you don't feel able to trust the recipes, especially when the ingredients aren't cheap. The book wasn't cheap either, come to think of it. It feels like a poor buy.

Well its ok. I didn't think much to Will's first book, and well this one is better. I think that there are much better books out there. I have tried some of the recipes and i wasn't blown away but they were ok. Chocolate is a funny thing to work with at home and i just think that this guy is trying to go down a route with an ingredient that people love to eat but not work with. The pictures were very appealing though. All in all, i wouldn't buy this book as a present for some one who loves to cook but someone who needs to fill a shelf with books with nice pictures.

I am a Will Torrent fan however, I was disappointed that there were so many pages on making chocolates and not on cooking with chocolate i.e. for cakes and deserts. I had been waiting eagerly for the publication of this book having enjoyed and used his earlier book so much.

Love this book, Will Torrent seems like such a nice guy. I saw him in action at the Chocolate show last year. Lots of lovely step-by-step photos so you don't have to an expert chocolatier to follow these recipes. Can't wait for him to bring out another book. Hopefully it will be soon!

I'm loving it, the recipes sound so good you can almost taste them! I thought patisserie at home was great but I haven't seen a single recipe from chocolate at home yet that I wouldn't make.
