Change the world for a fiver holds up such a simple idea. This is that whatever we do shapes the world we live in.
You might expect this to be a solemn polemic that would make the reader feel guilty and or powerless.
The authors have completely avoided this by creating a mini-masterpiece of wit and common sense. They list fifty things that anyone can do to make the world a better place. Each one is presented wittily on a separate page with simple illustrations, or practical things like a postcard, or seeds for "Plant a tree".
They include "Have a bath with someone you love" (Save water. Have fun. Just get out before everythng becomes wrinkled); Write to someone who inspired you (Nice to do, nice to get, what's not to like about it).
My favourite is "Learn to be friendly in another language". This is not something I do, but it is something I want to try.
"Ma yumkin an as 'ad" is "Can I help in" Arabic. They say "Just by learning a few words in a foreign language, it is amazing how much genuine warmth you an generate". I believe them, what would happen if thousands of us did it?
This initiative is supported by the leaders of the three main political parties. I am very enthusiastic about it because it goes against the apathy and powerlessness that so many people carry. Instead, it is a beacon of hope. Its genius is it shows that making the world a better place could be fun!<

This is a very exciting book, not at all what you would expect. It contains 50 different ideas for improving the world. Some of the ideas are very simple, some more complex. Everyone can do some of them and that does make you feel good.
The book is suitable for people of all ages - it will make a fantastic present. It includes many unusual features : a postcard to send to someone who has inspired you, seeds for you to plant and the cover is a poster.
. It is very exciting to see your action added to the total in front of your eyes. Everyone in my family has registered their actions, from the ages of 9 to 50.
If you want to know more about the book visit the website, it's brilliant.
At £5 the book is great value, I strongly recommend it.

What a FABULOUS book and for only a fiver! It's a neat, well constructed and very cleverly presented book, full of simple, but easily do-able ideas, that will change the world through collective action. I realised that I could do some of the actions, and now that I have, I'm encouraging my family, friends and work colleagues to do some too. This is a great book that you should buy and then buy more copies for your family and friends - definitely a good christmas pressie - and all the money goes to a very good cause. So go on and buy several.

It’s rare to find a book that gives you a warm glow and a giggle without guilting you into feeling bad. Change the World for a Fiver does all the above with charming illustrations, a wicked little sense of humour and an optimistic belief that if you make the small changes the big ones will follow. In a climate of increasing globalised doom this little book lets you reclaim some of your faith and your conscience by giving you easy-to-do acts. Change the World? Maybe not. But tweak it for the better? Definitely. It’s my stocking filler of choice this year. And at a fiver, great value.
Ps. Buy it direct from their site and they get more of the margin to put back into projects. [...]

This book, although a rather quick read, is an extremely enjoyable one. After reading it i simply had to lend it to my friends so that they could read it. It offers simple suggestions on things to do that can help work towards a better world to live in, from really simple objectives like refusing carrier bags to somewhat larger things such as giving blood. All its suggestions are put forward in an informative and humourous, yet very simple way. It's one of those books that leaves you feeling happy and inspired once you have finished reading it! A definate worthwhile read.

The concept behind this book is simply fantastic - everyone can take action for a better world TODAY instead of just wishing that things would be better. The great thing about it is that it is not worthy or preachy but funny and witty. Inspiring that so many people contributed to the book to ensure that it is cheap and I look forward to more great projects from the movement We Are What We Do, all funded by our fivers. Top stuff.

This book cannot be recommended strongly enough. It's funny, it's personal, it's inspiring and it makes you feel better just by reading it. And it's nice to own a really beautiful book too.
The "We Are What We Do" movement was co-founded by the Innocent Drinks coporation, so if you, like me, enjoy reading their funny labels on the bottles, you know what to expect. And for being such an aesthetically-pleasing book, it's way under-priced. Buy it and just be grateful for it!

A brilliant book full of inspiring advice about how to make small changes that can really make a difference. A lot of the actions are so simple and easy to implement, your sense of well-being will soar the very same day! The wicked design really helps too. Good luck to the movement!
