I'd advise you to follow Neil on his tangents site www.neilvn.com if you already don't. It's one of the best if not the best sites to learn all about using flash on camera and off camera. He blogs regularly and shares all tips and tricks of lighting along with reviews etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars For anyone wanting to take control of single, on-camera flash 18 Nov. 2016
By C. P. Schober - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I have the first edition of this book which I have thoroughly worn out; I referred to it frequently, sometimes rereading it cover to cover. I found the first edition to be the most helpful book on single, on-camera flash photography to date. Nothing else comes close; I know this, having spent a considerable amount of money on single, on-camera flash photography books. Although I'm sure there are some books out there that are as good as Niel's, for my money, Niel's instruction is as good as it gets. The second edition is a thorough reworking of the first. With a few exceptions, all of the images are new. Niel starts this edition with examples that extol the benefits of the effective use of single flash photography before heading back to the basics of exposure, flash sync, etc. He did a very thorough job in reworking the first edition, as good as that was. If you are looking to really take control of your single, on camera flash--especially for portraits--this book is the ticket. I look forward to enrolling in at least one of Niel's workshops.

This is a great look at the techniques of bounce flash. Concise, yet extensive primer covering practical and just the right amount of technical. The BFT will improve my photography. Thanks, Neil!
