Very clearly written and straightforward introduction. It covers a great deal of ground and can't go into detail but is an excellent introduction to the subject for a reader who wants to 'get out of the trenches'.

4.0 out of 5 stars World War 1 Home Front 1 Dec. 2002
By David L. Mcmillan - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
At first glance, you look at the title and think hasnt WW1 been written enough. However this is a new and fresh look. Delving into the war as no other...looking at race, gender and the Homefront of England. There is not enough written about the changes of the ordinary person living through the blood bath of WW1.
It is a must read for anyone interested in the Homefront, of WW1 and how it changed British Society.
