Fabulous book, but what a diet!!! I have underactive thyroid, never lost weight or felt well, week 1 10lb down by the end of week 2 I was dancing in the kitchen while I was cleaning my cupboards. Stick with it, I'd buy it again if it was £100.

An interesting book to get me started on dieting. I would have preferred more information in general and didn't need all the recipes. Ended up doing the 5/2 diet and reached target weight fairly easily. Cutting down on the odd beer helped. Also look at the NHS guide on number of calories in various items. It is a bit of an eye opener. Ran a spreadsheet for a few weeks until I knew the meal and daily intake. nly stopped because I could judge it reasonably well after those few weeks.

In 8 weeks, my blood sugar went from dangerously high (double what it should have been) to normal. As an added bonus, my cholesterol, dropped from 9 to 3. I also walked for exercise, so the diet alone may not be as successful, but the book recommends a lifestyle change, which in my case - now 10 weeks in means I need new clothes as my old ones hang off me like a scarecrow.
