Excellent product, works really well, very easy to use. The probes have braided steel sleeve so are heat resistant. Instructions are fine, easy to set up. The range of the unit is good and when checked with boiling water the readings were accurate. Very easy switching from fahrenheit to centigrade.

Others have commented on the screws for the transmitter battery compartment - I found them a doddle, they certainly weren't overtightened, were a good fit on the screwdriver and were very easy to undo. The reason for the screws is that the transmitter has a rubber seal around the battery compartment to reduce the risk of water ingress.

The unit certainly takes the uncertainty out of cooking meat in the smoker, the lid thermometer on my smoker (a ProQ Frontier) under-reads by about 20 degrees C. Obviously I can't comment on the unit's longevity yet.

I saw people on YouTube using this and I knew I had to have it. A year later and it's still going strong. Grill temperatures are easy to take because a handy clip keeps the grill probe an inch above the grill. Make sure it's near to what you're cooking rather than over the flames. I love how I can sit down and keep an eye on things from my chair. The meat probe works best on larger pieces of meat where you can leave it in for the whole cook. It's important to find a fleshy bit away from bone etc. I once thought I had knackered the meat probe because I accidentally left it on the grill. The reading read HHH but it soon recovered and works great again. I haven't had to change batteries yet. The two bits seem to need re-syncing every time I use them but that's just a button push on the back of one of them. Had a giggle when reading the guy who thinks they are dangerous and decided to leave my own favourable review. Go for it.

The Maverick ET732 has been a very worthwhile purchase and now I've used it for a while I wouldn't be without it or something very like it, especially when cooking chicken.

You can pretty much take it I agree with all the positive reviews so I will just mention the thing that cost it a star (and maybe deserved to cost it two).

Setting the high/low temperature alarms is _way_ too hard, too slow, easy to mess up and just generally pretty annoying. You have to set the high temperature limit first or you might not be able to set the low temperature as high as you want. The manual says that but not in a way you will understand till you bump into the problem. Increasing the temperature alarms is relatively easy. Lowering them is not; you have to go up all the way through the maximum possible setting, which is pretty high, to get back to the start. Woe betide if you overshoot; do it again. Cycling through the maximum temperature would be less annoying if the rapid advance worked, but it doesn't. You can't just hold down the button like the manual says; sometimes with some messing about you find a "sweet spot" way off-centre that you can hold down, but it won't work for long and not every time.

Another minor gripe is that the receiver won't remember that you selected celsius, though the sender does.

Great product & arrived promptly. Easy to use.
I bought my first one around two years ago and it has performed brilliantly. Generally it exceeded the 300ft limit! Probes are sturdy and have also performed well. Although there probably is a 5 degree variance of accuracy that is okay and much more accurate than the fitted temperature dials on my smokers and bbq's, which are between 15-25 degrees out. I have used it successfully in the house oven too. I have used them in the sun, rain & snow and have proven water resistant. The reason I have just purchased a new one is because I wanted another one so I can run more than one smoker or bbq at the same time. The batteries included have been changed approximately twice a year but then I use them at least once a week for between 4-12 hours. I can definitely recommend this product and hope it brings you as much comfort and fun as it has for me!

Fantastic piece of kit. Allows me to watch the Rugby World Cup in the safety of knowing my grill and food is at the right temperature. Wrap the wires loosely in tin foil, shiny side out, to protect the wires from heat. Very happy.

EDIT: After six months the food probe has failed and the seller just diverted me back to Amazon for a replacement rather than trying to help. DO NOT BUY!

The instructions fail to describe how the probes should be placed in the meat, to what depth, so it is all trial and error.

There are 8 pages of the logic programmed into the equipment but only two lines on how to get the best results from the use of the equipment

I absolutely positively love this wireless thermometer. I smoke a lot of meat for hours and hours, and it's really important to control the temperature in the meat, as well as in the smoker. With this thermometer, I can do all kinds of stuff around the house and garage, while at the same time monitoring the smoking process. I can't imaging smoking anything without this system.

Incidentally, it has other usage areas, like for example monitoring the internal temperature of your baby's pram when sleeping outside on cold days :-) Sky is the limit!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfecto para controlar cocciones largas
Reviewed in Spain on 16 November 2016

5.0 out of 5 stars Great reception

This has been working pretty well for me. I have had it for one cooking season so far and used it for approximately 10 cooks. The range has been great. I can set up the BBQ in the backyard and go into any floor in the house and still have a signal. It can drop out once in a while but not enough for me to be annoyed or question the quality of the product. Even if signal is lost, getting it back is not difficult. Easy and intuitive to setup. Not overly complicated at all like the newer model.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great thermometer!
Reviewed in the United States on 24 October 2013
Cant recommend this product highly enough! I like to bbq and smoke ribs, but I only have a Weber kettle to use. I got a Smokenator, to set it up for offset cooking and low and slow bbq. Temp control is critical for bbq, and can be hard to maintain on a grill that is not a dedicated smoker. I have found a good setup and can usually stay around 225-250 for upto six hrs. While I have found what works for me, I would never trust it, and need to know the temp of my bbq at grate level. This thermometer set works perfect for that!

I set it up with the temp probe hooked to the cooking grate, with the cord running under the lid of my Weber. The cord is metal and can handle the heat. It is also small enough to go under the lid without letting extra air into the kettle, This is very important as airflow is the main means of temp control. This thermometer works great and tells me my exact temp at grate level inside my grill. It works wonderfully, but that is not the best part, many thermometers can do that...

This baby has a remote!! I can set it up, synch it with the remote, leave the receiver on the back deck with the grill, and take the remote inside the house!! It works great and seems to have a good range. I love the fact that it can be 90 degrees out, and I can be inside the air conditioned house and look over and check the temperature of the grill out on the back deck, having never left the comfort of the air conditioning or even leaving the couch! It allows me to keep an eye on whats going on outside in the grill, while being comfy inside. Without this remote, I would be outside about every 10 mins checking the temp on the receiver. This allows me to watch it and only go out to make changes to the vents as needed to keep the temps in the zone I want.

Not only that, you can set alarms on it. You want to bbq at 225 degrees? Set the alarms! You can set an alarm to go off if the temp drops below what you want (say 200) or goes higher than you want (say 250). This way you dont even really have to watch it. You can also set an alarm on the meat probe to tell you when your food reaches the temp you want.

This thermometer has turned smoking on a regular Weber charcoal grill from a worry filled 6 hr journey of uncertainty into a 6 hr ride of air conditioning and comfort, with a few trips here and there to make adjustments as needed. I can not recommend this product enough, and anyone who is serious about grilling and smoking should definitely own one of these!!

(I have not used the meat probe, but it does come with one. Allows you to check the temp of what you are cooking (such as a brisket or butt) from inside the house in the comfort of air conditioning as well! Like I said I havent used it, but imagine it works just as well as the other temp probe does.)

P.S. I used the meat probe for the first time while smoking Boston Butt the other day. Worked as well as the grill temp probe! Allowed me to know where my meat was at over the course of the entire cook (14 hrs). Waited till the meat his 200 and it pulled with ease. I have had this thermometer for a while now and cant recommend it enough. Has made me much better at BBQ!

5.0 out of 5 stars Für jeden Griller ein Muss

Endlich mal eins was es hält was es verspricht.
