To buy a second charging lead from Pebble directly costs £10 for the cable itself and then a further £2.50 for delivery. Pretty steep... VicTsing, however, come to the rescue with their cheap-as-chips third-party alternative!
Costing just over £4 delivered (at time of writing) it is a perfect second charger to leave in the office or to throw in a bag if you're going somewhere for a weekend away. This way you can leave your official (and better quality) charging cable safe at home. The VicTsing cable is undeniably inferior to the original, it's a hair shorter and more importantly the magnets in the tip that both guide and maintain the connection between charger and watch are noticeably weaker. In use this means that things can get a tad frustrating having to continually adjust the charger to get it in the right spot and even then a very small knock can dislodge it. That said, is it so frustrating that I'd be willing to pay three times the price for an additional official cable? No.
All in all, this is very much what you'd expect at the price. The build quality is not up there with the original and it does not work as well in operation but it 'does' work, it does the job and at such a price-point where you would not be too heart-broken if it gets broken or lost. If you need a second charging cable for your original Pebble Smart Watch then I can't see any reason to spend more than this.
Overall I would recommend any Pebble owners get this charger.
If your pebble is not moved, it's fine, but I've found simply picking the pebble up can be enough to drop the cable - it seem the cable is a bit stiffer, and this provides enough torque to disconnect the magnets.
It does the basic job ok, but it's just not as good.
Edited after a few weeks.
The weak magnets are irritating compared to the original - I have to be _really_ careful to gently place the watch down after attaching the cable, as even the slightest knock can dislodge it.
I have found it a bit trickier to get it to connect and charge than the oem cable but with a bit of wiggling it works fine, it's slightly harder to disconnect it as well which is a good thing.
This cable is ideal to run off the USB socket on the monitor and to clip onto the watch whilst typing....as I am doing right now. I would agree that the magnets are not the strongest but are working right now with no issue. Does make people look twice to see me plugged into the computer but can say there have been no charging issues and seems to charge at a same rate as the original cable.
To be fair, the original can be tricky to keep connected too.
Can't complain at all for the price. Serves a purpose as an emergency topup at work.

Doesn't stay attached like the original cable.
It works but it is fidelity to get it attached.
This isn't the same quality as the original, but then i didn't expect it to be. It does what it claims which is the important thing.Published 21 months ago by JRG 1210
