If you have and use the Leatherman Wave add-on tools (and I do) they are essential to keep the tiny bit clips in one place.
Everything packs away neatly in this tough Nylon Pouch with room for all the gubbins, and according to my Appearance Critics it's smart enough to wear on a belt, which is what I usually do.
As an engineer I never know when something will need fixing, and these Wave tools are so useful for everything from opening up a computer or speaker cabinet with Torx screws, fiing down part of an up-cycled PET bottle to make a kid's megaphone or just cutting and trimming things to shape with one of the blades - or snipping a broken fingernail with the scissors.
The Leatherman does all that, of course - but without the pouch, it is unlikely to have all the bits with it. And it might not even be in your pocket!
This (with all its bits and pieces inside) gets transferred when I change trousers, so no worries.
Recommended for Leatherman users - and their friends/relatives looking for a suitable gift. Goes well with Leatherman Wave Bit Kit and Leatherman 934850 Quick-Release Pocket Clip and Lanyard Ring.
If the Leatherman is to be used on a boat or dock, I strongly recommend adding a lanyard to the Leatherman. These can be easily and cheaply made from heavy duty sporting boot laces.
The lanyard is needed because 'splash' is not a good thing to hear....
Thatt's no problem if it doesn't actually live on your belt much. (In my case it does. I've carried one Leatherman or another for years, and I tend to prefer the Wave now.)
As I say, if this is simply something to stick in a camping kit it's fine 'cos the nylon will dry quicker, but if it's for a workaday tool consider a couple of extra quid for the premium leather pouch.
Both this and the premium have elasticated tunnel sides for things like torches and markers. There's also room inside for the accessory bit kit. In the immediate term this pouch has more internal space than the other until the leather wears in.
Having browsed other reviews I have to say I haven't had any trouble with the elastic on either item.
[updated: I received this item in February, it is now November. I open and close the velcro fastening maybe on average once a day (sometimes more, sometimes not at all) and have found that it will now barely keep itself closed. On more than one occasion recently, i have found that my Wave has slipped out of the pouch while i have been moving quickly (sprinting, quickly descending stairs etc) I have lowered my rating to reflect this]
Having this sheath makes it much easier to get on and off of my belt, and makes sure it will never slip off. It also stops me from scratching any delicate walls or set pieces when I'm working.
This is light, shaped so its easy to remove your tool and most importantly the side pickets are tight so they hold the multi bit attachment no problem (on the half leather/half nyon pouch the side pockects are loose).
Also theres the rear pcket for the bit holder.
Looks ace. Only concern is how long the velcro will last with repeated use..

Decent quality pouch, but doesn't actually fit my Leatherman Wingman very well at all. Seems far too big. So it's a thumbs down from me.Published 1 month ago by Mark S.
