How to use a carpet washer
There are a few steps you should follow to optimally use your carpet washer. You should start by plugging your cleaner into the nearest socket. Then, turn on the machine’s vacuum, if included, and press the designated button to release the cleaning solution. While holding down the spray button, pull (pushing won’t work) the cleaner around your carpet. This will effectively remove the dirt and rejuvenate your carpet, giving it the colour it started with.
When you pull the carpet cleaner, the side closest to you vacuums the dirt and dust from the carpet. Then, the cleaning solution, located right behind the vacuum, is applied to reinvigorate it. Therefore, pulling the cleaner is necessary to clean the carpet properly as the dirt needs to be vacuumed before the carpet is soaked. Afterwards, the vacuumed dirty water passes through the machine’s dome and into the white tank, which will eventually need to be emptied separately. After cleaning, you should let your carpet dry for approximately two hours before it can be used again.
Keep in mind that there are two broad types of carpet washers: standard and multi-function carpet washers. Standard washers can clean your carpet, but they won’t be able to vacuum the dirt and debris, meaning you’ll have to vacuum first. Multi-function cleaners can vacuum dirt and clean your carpet, eliminating the need for a vacuum cleaner. The steps listed above suit a multi-function cleaner, however, both methods are similar.
