I had been wanting an aquarium for a long time but living in a rented house couldn't go for anything too big because it's inevitable that at some stage we'll need to move. The Biorb tanks seemed to offer everything in one small and easy to set up package.

The blurb on the box states that you have everything you need to get going which is kind of true. There's a sample pack of micro pellet fish food which lasted me weeks and weeks plus two little sachets of water treatments - one to introduce some bacteria, the other to treat tap water to make it safe (removes chlorine and other nasties). Also included is some ceramic media (needs a THOROUGH clean before its ready to remove dust) that sits on the bottom and gives the bacteria you introduced a place to set up shop and get to work breaking down wastes that your fish will produce. The tank has a filter / aerating system built in and once attached to the included pump your Biorb is pretty much ready to fill with water.

Realistically however, the included bits and pieces don't really lead to what you could call a 'finished' tank - and it certainly won't look like the image printed on the box with just the included bits. There's no decorations, and with the included ceramic media everything looks stark and bare. The fake plant decorations you can get to hide the bubble tube are expensive at well over 20 quid. Real plants are much better for the health of the tank and considerably cheaper so I went with those instead and didn't try and hide the bubble tube. I did end up spending an extortionate amount on 4 smallish bags of fancy 'feng shui pebbles' at a well known high street pet store that shall remain nameless to pretty it up and give the tank some shape.

This fish tank is miles better than the standard round biorb. Its shape means it fits in much easier than the round orb, and I feel it makes the fish look more lifelike (In the biorb the fish tended to constantly be magnified and look slightly distorted). Here that does happen, but only on the rounded corners.

I have this tank set up in an area of my kitchen, away from the cooker and windows. I use it lengthways coming out from the wall as a separator between my food prep area and my washing up area and sink. It looks from any part of the kitchen like a real focal point.

The light unit on this product is bright, and when its the only light on at night this tank just looks awesome. The whole kitchen is set aglow. The reason for losing one star on this review is that the light fitting sometimes gets water within the outer casing, which needs squeezing out. However while this has happened on several occasions, it does not seem to reach anywhere that causes problems, and the tank functions as new, even after 12 months of running.

The filtration system on this tank is good, but can be a little more expensive to run than more mainstream tanks. (pads for mainstream tanks around £4, for this one £6-7).

All in all, this tank is far better for a small fish tank than most of the other offerings available!

I am absolutely delighted with my purchase. I was very surprised to receive everything needed to set up my new Aquarium, I can't thank you enough, I am an elderly lady crippled with Arthritis &, as such, am unable to have pets, but have always had a small aquarium & I have been wanting to upgrade a bit more so, when I looked through this companys shop & saw this biOrb Flow aquarium I knew it was just what I wanted, and, because it was my birthday earlier this month ( Dec. ) my family paid for this for me. I was amazed at how quickly it arrived & then when I saw the huge box it arrived in I did think the tank would be too big for my needs, however, when the box was opened & I saw the contents, I could hardly believe my eyes, or my luck, everything in the photo was delivered in my order,so all that remains for me to say is a BIG thank you & I will most definitely use this supplier again & recommend it to my friends.

I purchased the BiOrb Flow 30L Aquarium primarily as an aesthetic and and as a semi starter aquarium as I had previous experience with aquariums growing up.

I admit I chose the BiOrb Flow 30L Aquarium on more of an aesthetic design point and one of space and I was impressed by it's design as well as it's function initially. That being said on receiving the product and further research it's design is more problematic in terms of actual aquarium use, That's not to say it can not work as an aquarium you simply have to have the responsibility and put the work in to it for your aquarium fish.

The box contents is standard fare you will find the usual Guarantee information, Instruction manual, Air Pump, Ceramic media, Thermometer sticker, Bubble tube, Sponge filter, Standard LED light and Transformer plug.

The aquarium works very well for the most part as long you know what you are doing the system is a simple yet non standard convention of filtration for an aquarium. The BiOrb Flow 30L Aquarium has an bottom filter system that incorporates the Air Pump as it's primary source of flow for the filter as well as providing bubbles for for an aesthetic presentation as well as aeration of the water.

The power consumption of the aquarium is quite good at a combined 24V with the LED Light and the Air Pump, though the low LED standard for the Standard LED Light provided does tend to overheat if left on which it shouldn't do.

The integrated light and opening on the top the tank is quite small meaning maintenance of the aquarium like water changes, cleaning and even adding aquarium fish, shirmp, salamanders, or seahorses etc to be difficult but not impossible.
