It does not guarantee that a movie or series will be made. If Amazon decides to exercise its option, the author will receive additional compensation per the contract, and Amazon will own all audiovisual and ancillary adaptation rights in the story, as well as any productions based on those rights, in perpetuity. The winner will be able to review all terms of Amazon’s standard development and rights option contract before choosing to enter into the agreement.
