No the mat is extra . However if you make sure there are no small stones where your going to put the hot tub should be ok .

I do mine every 6 weeks ..
But depends on use... u can half empty it once every 2 weeks.. everyones different..
But never had green water make sure you're putting the right chlorine etc in...
