I use a much heavier camera on it and its fine, so cant see why it wouldnt be

Yeah. I'm using the canon eos m1. As long as it has an original tripod mount then you can do so. What you need to do is twist off the nut off it and it will screw onto your canon eos m3

To be honest, I don't know. I have bought for Nikon and the screw was too big. It's okay at the begining but wouln't go to the end. Wouldn't recommend.

I'm getting a d3400 tomorrow and I'll let you know if it fits.
The tripod has 2 different mounts for a variety of camera types so I'm sure it will.
