It doesnt actually improve the quality of the image...just enables you to use the ps2 on a tv if it hasnt got scart socket.

I hope so that's why I bought one. To be honest I have not fitted it yet so can't say for certain if it will.

I think you want one that is the other way round. HDMI to Scart. Tried to make it work on my mum's old portable with just a Scart only at back.

I only used it the other way round, to connect new hdmi device to old TV RCA or scart input using a connector at the end
