It does a bit. I don't lay around in bed as much when I wake up since I'm no longer sleepy when I wake. That being said I still find that I am lazing about when there is something I could be doing later on in the day. Hi, I usually take it with my dinner approx 2 hours before bed. It doesn't make me feel sleepy but I do sleep well once in bed if that makes sense

The ingredients are 100% natural, tablets are not naturally occuring, They have to be manufactured and presumably those ingredients are pulped in a way that allows one to administer the object into ones body.

I don't see why you couldn't chew them, it doesn't advise not to on the bottle. It mentions taking with a snack so you could do that I guess. They are small and circular, a little over half a cm in diameter. Hope this helps
