Nope, you install from the DVD's and when you run the game it will check for updates and install those if found.

As the xbox360 controller (even the one for PC) is very popular, I'd be very surprised if it didn't work.

Yes, however it is difficult finding a trusted website that won't put nasty viruses on your pc but if you are serious about it look at different sources on youtube.
