The clue is always that bit in all warranty/guarantee texts "This does not affect your statutory rights". According to those acts anything you buy must be fit for purpose, and provide reasonable use and service. A computer that packs up after two years of careful use is not respecting those statutory rights, and you cite those acts in your complaint to your supplier when you complain about the poor performance of your item.
By the way, the responsibility for fulfilling all warranty/guarantee issues lies with whoever sold your item to you. Say a Lenovo computer bought from an independent merchant on the Amazon site is unsatisfactory that merchant, not Lenovo, not Amazon, has to put things right. But don't go too far with that without investigating a bit, because Lenovo customer care is excellent and they back up their products if sold by a UK professional, and you don't need to be legally right If you get satisfaction...
Generally Lenovo products are well made and robust. I am disabled and drop things on a daily basis, and I have never finished off a Lenovo phone, tablet, laptop or desktop. A few scrapes and cracks, sure, but dead kit is a "none so far".
