Depends on the format of the podcast, but the X3 swallows all of the common ones like mp3, ogg and AAC. As for uploading, just plug it in and it behaves like any usb mass storage device, i.e. just drag and drop your files.

Sorry,I have no idea.I never used IPod nano. What it does do is play the old wma audio and the latest mp3 formats well.Along with most other audio formats.

It doesn't have a built in speaker, but you can attach speakers using a standard 3.5mm audio jack (the same as most earphones).
