I am not too sure whether you show wash it too much but the main collections cylinder is plastic and is certainly washable; I have gently rinsed the inside filter under the tap, no problem; but it has to be done carefully, and will not need doing very often. Hope this helps AB recent buyer.

Answer:
The 6.4Kg is Bosch stated weight. Don't be pht off by the claims it heaver. It's NOT. However like all cleaners of this ilk it's pushing the head over the carpet that can prove difficult. BUT set the head up to the rigjt surface and adjust the vacuum accordingly and your away. NO probs ;-)

Dont know what stair attachments are, sorry. However it has quite a long flexible tube and the solid end extends as well. I can do my stairs ok. Half from the bottom and half from the top. It's a great machine. Nice and quiet...
