The book comes with some pre printed paper so helps them master writing certain words and all the letters but it also has blank bits so they can then practice free hand. If I remember correctly it comes with additional writing sheets to practice on.
As for learning to read its pretty basic as its targetting the writing… see more

As for learning to read its pretty basic as its targetting the writing side and I would suggest the phonic reading books they do as they specifically target that area. Or any of the story books as they can read along with them. see less
