For the extra few hundred pounds I then purchased him the Samsung UE55F6500 with built in Freeview and Freesat from John Lewis with 5 yr guarantee included and free delivery. This cost £995.00 in May 15 but tv prices have gone down a lot since then. I also purchased him a Samsung HW-F450 sound system for £199 from an Pixmania.com and this tv paired with surround sound have proved yo be of gr8 quality. Hope this helps. see less

With this arrangement there are no monthly charges but there could be one off set up charges. The alternative is to subscribe to sky on a monthly basis. You will still need a dish but negotiate with sky and they will usually give you a free box as part of the package. They offer a wide range of options from around a tenner a month up to £60.00 a month. The setting up of Sky on the TV is simple but again if you subscribe they will usually do the setting up for you.Incidentally the 5500 has built in freeview so all you need is the aerial/satellite dish - the info leaflet which comes with the 5500 tells you where to put the connector from the box to the back of the TV--but if you want sky proper you will need their digibox and viewing card and they will do the connecting for you at a cost. Best of luck. see less
