Yes it can perfectly accommodate the 6 plus. I bought this for my s3 before and now i can use it with my 6 plus too so its a great product

Grips do hold firm. They are about 20mm high where they grip the sides.

It would only work if you set your phone into the mount in landscape rather than portrait. There are many other options of adjusting the mount that would work for you, but that would be the simplest.

It leaves a clean patch on the windscreen, but no sticky residue. If it is mounted on the dash via the adhesive pad then it makes sense to leave the pad in place but the mount is readily detached from the pad. Hope this helps...
