We use the 40inch version for online fps without problems, in fact it is great. We also have a wifi setup, and that is as fast as we can play, so maybe the belief that wifi is too slow for online playing is no longer relevant with today's equipment.

Sorry. Since I don't own a PS3 I can't confirm this. I can tell you however that this TV (TX-L39B6B 39inch) has two HDMI input ports which I believe would allow conection to a PS3.
