Four standard AA batteries. If you want to use rechargeable ones, you shuld check out the info on the Nikon website as there've been some issues with certain types. I get 4xAA batteries from Aldi for £1.99 and they last quite a long time in my L320 camera.

Sorry. I've not used it for that sort of photography. Bought it as a back-up for my DSLR to use on the beach when abroad. Hi sorry but this camera is not pocket size not the bigest but not poker size also it is a great camera on of the best I have got supper hd video and good picture quality hope this helps

No it does not, but the screen at the back shows you what you are taking a picture of. Very good camera.
