yes you can stop it anytime. it creates the files in sections so the files are easy to handle and process

It depends on the frequency of the exposures. I found at 1 frame per minute I'd get a few days but and 1 frame every 5 seconds only one and a bit. However I use a USB charger and it's governed by the memory of the SD card. 5 days is the norm for 16GB card.

It comes supplied with 4 normal AA Batteries which last a fair old time. Had mine recording every 15 minutes between 8am & 5pm for the last 3 weeks and I've still got about half battery life left.

It isn't possible to check the battery and storage whilst the camera is recording. You would need to stop recording, and then check the battery gauge and memory usage in the Menu screen.

For an extension build we have done, we set it at a shot every 30 mins between the hours 7am till 5pm (winter in U.K. So dark after 5) over the 3 months (oct to Dec) of the shots there were 45 days no work being done but we edited it after to a three minute video and it was fab! Cameras can be set to start and stop at a time, however it only allows one such setting. For example they can be set to come on at 7:00 and stop at 19:00. I think they will repeat this action until the memory card is full. Battery life is dependent on the number of images you take.
