I've just tested it for you, and I wouldn't want to get any closer than 15cm as it starts getting a little blurry at that distance.

I bought this item as a present for someone aged 12 who wanted to create Pi projects so the quality of the picture wasn't really a consideration. Sorry I am unable to say how good the picture quality is.

Nope. You'll need to add one. All that comes is the raspberry pi itself. You'll also need power and hdmi cables.

For Sky movies you need a Sky box. However this can be a very good media centre AFTER the box to send the pictures or music to different devices. There is a thing called XMBC that does that on Pi.
