Hello Keith. My good ladies IPOD is I believe a 6th Generation Nano, small square about an inch & the dock connector works a treat. She can control the volume from her steering wheel (08 plate VW EOS) but cannot change tracks etc this has to be done via the IPOD menu but she has a comprehensive playlist so just listens… see more Hello Keith. I bought this 'lightning' connector for my iPad to auxiliary to use in my car. I don't know whether it will fit the iPod as I have never purchased one before. I hope this helped?

Yes, & Yes. I have the 160Gb Classic and have nearly all my CD collection on it. When we have friends over for the evening, I set up a play list for the evening, avoiding the need to fiddle with the HiFi whilst we have guests. You can however select songs on the Classic as normal whilst connected to the dock.

It doesn't connect directly into your car radio but it connects into the speaker system of the radio.
