I had a faulty connection in the joytab and the red light only came on in a certain postion so I returned it to be fixed which they did within the year of purchase at no cost. No and the on screen one is rubbish - it is slow to the points where it stops responding for minutes at a time. In fact, the whole thing is rubbish and I strongly suggest you don't buy one. It may have improved in its latest incarnation (mine runs Android 4.0) but I still wouldn't risk it.

I have no problem with this however the on off button may have a fault a couple of friends broke theirs by pressing too hard only a light pressure should be used and held until the tablet comes on
