Internal only. Also wasn't any good for my door - The exterior flap got caught on this internal cover and the whole thing jammed. I got a differentr internal draught excluder without the hinged/flap/cover , just one with the brushes to stop the draughts. This alternative one worked fine

HI this is a storm flap for the inside of a letter box but it would be possible to fix it to a brick wall as it is not prone to rusting but may be prone to the wind lifting it and banging on the outside of a external wall
