Hi David . When the iron is cold unscrew the screw under the machine and shake it over the sink . I pour in a little hot water and swish it around a bit and then empty again . Put a screw driver or such like into the hole and turn. I think first time it's extra tight.

Mine done this at one point and I did a thorough de-scale and it was okay after that. But my power light was coming on, if yours isn't it's maybe worse than mine was. They do seem to ask to be de-scales a lot though, which is a pain. see less

perfectly normal, also when ironing and holding down the steam button approx 5 seconds later you will hear aloud rumbling noise, I say loud because whenever I'm doing the ironing in front of the tv I have to turn the tv up. Sorry, I don't know the answer to that problem, but by the looks of things this iron has a lot of problems. If it's still under warranty I suggest you get a replacement

I had this and it means the boiler has gone. If it's still in guarantee you should get a new one. If not like me it's a new one sorry

Is the water filled up to the top? I find with mine even with some water in it the iron doesn't thing there is enough in it.
Also try juggling the water container around.
