The suit needs to fit tight against the skin.
In order to work, its the thin layer of water between the skin and the suit that keeps them warm. This layer will warm up with body heat.
If there is too much of a gap, water will flush in and out of the suit making them cold

Answer:
I always put a swim nappy and also some swim trunks on my grandaughter under the wetsuit. I don't want accidents in the pool. There is no nappy incorporated in the wetsuit, it is simply a neoprene suit. Have fun and enjoy. Kirsten
