Do you mean 70-300L lens. I contemplated in getting a ball head but decided to get the cheaper swivel and tilt with rc2 quick release. I use a monopod with this lens and works very well with the Maxsimafoto mount. Not sure whether you need the ball head as the camera turns to portrait mode within the mount.

no this is a quality product, it is lined so no metal touches the lens. I leave mine on permanately. I'
spent 5 weeks in Australia earlier this year and took loads of photos of surfers and animals in the rain forest in queensland. Brilliant piece of kit, definetley recommend at a 5th of the price of the canon one.

The ring mount allows you to rotate the camera to a portrait format, the foot of the mount has a threaded hole to allow it to be attached to a tripod/monood.

No they don't but what do you want them to guarantee,i'v two none canon collars but the only one that comes loose is the canon collar on my ef 70 - 400 mm l is lens.Have you seen the price of canon collars ?
