I usually bring a few into the house before they are needed for a fire but sometimes I miscalculate and need to nip outside for that extra log. So the answer I think is that it depends upon the positioning of the store and the severity of your weather. i live on a small hill in Scotland. Very windy and it rains a lot, but so far no problems. see less

It's self assembly but easy to do. Another person is a help to hold things, all fixings are supplied and an electric screwdriver /drill speeds things up but is not essential
