Sonos works over Wi-Fi and requires a standalone (free) application for controlling it from whatever device you choose - Windows PC, Mac, iOS or Android device. So no.

No, the only inputs are power and (optional) ethernet network cable.
You can connect an AUX cable to the Sonos Connect and send that to the Play:3.

no usb mate, it does play radio though, the sonos app has a wide range of stations to choose from hope this helps :)

I suggest you contact Sonos support they would be able to help you. I think you will need a Sonos CONNECT to which you plug in other equipment to play through the Sonos speaker/speakers. No it uses your existing connection via wifi , it can be a bit glitchy with Virgin ( see the virgin forums or google it) . Once I got past that it's been good for the most part .

No you must go through the app to set up on a wi fi network. Changing this ad hoc would be a lengthy process and I’m not sure a phone wi fi hot spot would be sufficient for the systems requirement

Unfortunately not, this is a wireless wifi speaker so your music will need to be on your WiFi network. I think you can do this using a Sonos Connect, but i'd do some googling.

U cannot directly connect the Sonos play 3 to Alexa.. best option is to get the sonos one which has Alexa built in.
