Hi, its a bit of both. The surface is textured with a slight matt sheen but it is also has a shin to it. Sounds a mix I know, but looks very good in the kitchen

It does not have a bean grinder, you have to use ground coffee. It is brilliant, we wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee every morning.
