Honestly you would think you had never vacuumed before - the only thing I can find fault with is, as someone previously said in a review, that the cord is attached at the bottom, but you just have to hold it up out of the way, not too much of a problem, minor irritation. It is light to carry upstairs - you need to empty it after each use as it picks up so much but, it is very easy to empty. The hose for use on the stairs - the suction is so strong the pipe contracts making it slightly awkward, but I have a cylinder vacuum as well, which is easier for car cleaning etc., although I still use this on the stairs mostly as it is so good and cleans so well. I have a dog so vacuum most days, it is a pleasure to get out and just run over quickly too - I have had a Dyson in the past and much prefer this, and the price is much more reasonable too! Although both of my sons have those now and they seem lighter and easier to use, but I still prefer this!! Yes definitely pleased with mine and I am fussy with regard to cleaning. see less

Answer:
Can't remember if it's a year but sure when I bought it if you registered the product they extended the warranty to longer. This hoover used to fall over all the time as its centre of gravity isn't right and the carpet cleaning bit of it broke. I gave it to someone with wooden floors.
